Top Civil Administrator for Gilgit-Baltistan Changed – Sikandar will be the New Chief Secretary

Monitoring Desk (Gilgit): The Federal Govt. of Pakistan changed its top administrator, Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan in the wake of ongoing protest over snatching away of wheat subsidy from the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. The newly appointed Chief Secretary is Sikadar Sultan Raja, who was previously Director General of Immigration and Passports, Previously, he has served as Services Secretary and Secretary Local Government in Punjab. Sikandar is said to be very close to the Interior Minister, Chudery Nisar Ali Khan.

Mr. Sikandar Sultan Raja will replace Mr. Younus Dagha, who served as Chief Secretary for Gilgit-Baltistan over one year. He is departing from Gilgit-Baltistan as a people friendly and reasonable top civil officer of the region.
