Tarin,  used to make ‘Lasi and Mkhan’ Diltar and Maska out of yogurt was an important  essential component of daily lives in Gilgit-Baltistan. Same as many other traditional tools of daily lives at the face of technological led changed of sophisticated tools this one ‘the Tarin’ is also getting disappeared.

However, thanks to the difficulties of reaching the power cables to the high mountain pastures of Gilgit-Baltistan some of the people are still using this tool.

Those of you who have tasted the Lasi of goats milk in a high pasture of Gilgit-Baltistan would for sure miss it and would cherish to have a chance to sip a glassful of Lasi from a Tarin.
