[News] Peace for Gilgit-Baltistan, Agha Rahat and Qazi Nisar Back in Each Other Arms

Qayum Sah (Gilgit): The head of two major Muslim Sects of Giglit-Baltistan, Agha Rahat-ul-Hussaini and Moulana Qazi Nisar representing Shia sect and Ahl-e-Sunnat wal Jamat respectively warmly hugged each other at a joint Parliamentary Peace Committee and Masjid Board. The meeting was facilitated by the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah and it has been appreciated and looked at with optimism by the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
In the back drop of the recent wave of violence in which tens of innocent people belonging to both sects of Islam being killed on Karakoram High Way (KKH) and in Giglit city, the news of meeting two top religious leaders is good news.
Both leaders declared terrorism as a common enemy of followers belonging to both sects. The further stated that killing of innocent people in the name of Allah and Islam is not just and haram in Islam. Addressing the joint meeting Qazi Nisar stated that “The follower of Islam either Shia or Sunni is brothers to each other.” Agha Rahat in his speech endorsed this assertion and stated that “I agree with Moulan Qazi Nisar that both Shia and Sunni are brothers to each other bounded by the relationship on the name of Allah, Hazrat Muhmmad (PBUH) and Holy Quran. The terrorist and miscreants are creating the differences and kill innocent people for their own notorious interests.”
The meeting and agreement of both the leaders to maintain peace and stability in the region is always regarded high and now coming on a common platform for promoting peace in Gilgit both leaders have given great hopes to violence stricken people of Gilgit-Baltistan. On the occasion Speaker GBLA Wazir Baig said, now it is the duty of the government and law enforcement agencies to develop and maintain peaceful environment in the area and I highly appreciate the efforts of Qazi Nisar and Agha Rahat.
