Mining License-Robing the Wealth of Gilgit-Baltistan

The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan has issued mining lease at the personal directives of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousf Raz Gilani to a Hong Kong/China origin mining firm Bao-Billion Mining Group (HK). The said firm is working in Pakistan with the name of Mohsin Industries.
Interestingly the license to the said firm has been issued in violation of the resolutions of the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly (GBLA). The news of the issuance of the license has created fire in the assembly and the members both opposition and treasury have thrown dirty eggs on Chief Minister Mehdi Shah (who is known as Kaki Mehdi Shah) for covertly issuing the license to the said company. Interestingly the members of PPP have also condemned the move, particularly Finance Minister, Muhammad Ali Akhtar has stated that under the veil of blankets chief Minister has issued the license which is equal to rubbing the honor and wealth of the Gilgit-Baltistan. The members of the assembly wowed to defend the resolution of the assembly and take a firm stance to not allow the company to operate in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The license has been issued without any transperant process and without taking care of the interests of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan as well as Govt. of Gilgit-Baltistan. In the process Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah has been doubted to have taken huge kick back shared by his bosses in millions of dollars.
The company has already started to hire hundreds of people to work on its future projects.
