63rd Independence Day of Gilgit-Baltistan

 1st November is being celebrated as the Independence day by the people of Gilgit-Baltistan from Dogra Raj. The country of Gilgit-Baltistan came into being after defeating the occupation of Kashmir based Dogra Raj in a fierce battle fought around Gilgit. In the war of independence hundreds of personnel of Gilgit Scouts died for the freedom of their motherland from foreign occupation. The Chinar Bagh Yadgar is the reminder of the Independence of Gilgit-Baltistan.

 The country of Gilgit-Baltistan has affiliated herself with the country of Pakistan and today as well both countries have a strong relationships with each other but an obscure political linkage, of course the country of Pakistan has a highly dominant role and influence in the matters of the country of Gilgit-Baltistan which is in a way considered to be a colonial protectorate style relationship. 63 years have passed but still the relationship between Pakistan, India and Gilgit-Baltistan is unclear at the regional and International level which is a worrying situation for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. However, the resilient and brave people of Gilgit-Baltistan celebrate their Independence Day on November 1 each year and have strong aspiration for their future.
