It has been more than 8 months since the Attabad disaster hit the people in Hunza, and it has particularly affected inadvertently the student community. Considering the importance of education the people of Hunza pressed upon the government to arranged financing students currently studying at various schools, colleges and universities all over Pakistan.
The government of Gilgit-Baltistan had issued a notification asking student to submit Students’ Relief Fund Forms and announced Students Relief Fund. Responding to it the affected students of Gilgit-Baltistan had submitted their forms duly attested by the concerned academic institutions.
However, till today there is no response regarding the payment of fees to the students by the government of Gilgit-Baltistan, due to which students are going under tremendous pressure. Many students are forced to drop their semesters and many schools have issued notices to expel students if they would be unable to pay the fees.
In this regard, Minister for Education, Speaker, and Member (Technocrate) for Hunza representing at GBLA should take immediate notice and make sure to realese necessary Students Relief Funds.
