[News] Hundreds of people Reached to Attabad Lake-Defying Govt. imposed Restrictions

Aliabad: (Ahmed Ali) Hundreds of people from various villages of upper Hunza (Gojal) which is stranded for more than 5 months due to blockage of Karakorum Highway (KKH) as a result of the blockage of Hunza River reached to the lake blockage to widening the spillway.
Five villages of Upper Hunza (Gojal) Ayeenabad, Shiskhat, Gulmit, Hussaini and Passu are being affected by 35 KM long Attabad Lake and 25000 are stranded as being isolated from the rest of the world.
It is reported that people from various parts of Gilgit-Baltistan are going to join the volunteers working on widening of the spillway. People from central Hunza and Lower Hunza have also joined the voluntarily work of widening spill way.
However, government administration is not happy with this movement of the people; police have tried to stop people reaching to the spillway, as it is still being considered dangerous to be at spillway. News of clashes between people and police are also coming.
Earlier government has allowed boat services only for the transportation of goods, under strict rules. Boat operators were not allowed to use these boats for passengers, however people have defy these rules and they are highly unsatisfied with the role of the government regarding its work on the spillway.
