Sana (Hunza): Asia Foundation a Washington based International NGO has taken 36 girl students from the villages of Sarat, Attbabad and Shishkat to Islamabad for education. The girls are students of class 6th – 8th ,in the age bracket of 10 to 14 years.  The details regarding the boarding, schooling and guardianship are not yet known. The local Community Councils have said to opposed the issues considering the very young age of the girls but somehow a employee of the Asia Foundation said have convinced the parents on the students on personal basis and girls have been taken to Islamabad.

Considering the existing situation of Attabad Disaster which has severally affected the inhabitations’ economic, social and emotional position are highly vulnerable to unexposed threats. There is need to construct a strong community based mechanism to help the people and anything that is linked with the exploitation of minors and particularly girls is needed to be taken very seriously.

Why Asia Foundation has not arranged facility for education in Hunza and why in Islamabad? In Islamabad it would be more cost than in Hunza. For the same amount of money they can give education to more than 36 students in Hunza than in Islamabad. It seems to be suspicious becuase why only girls?????
