[News] The elections of Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly were based on fraudulent tactics-Nawaz Sharif

Lahore (Asghar): Meeting with a delegation of Pakistan Muslim League (N) represented by Hafiq Hafeez-ur-Rehman the president of PML (N) Giglit Chapter, Nawaz Sharif  the head of Pakistan Mulsim Leagues Pakistan (PML< N) stated that the elections in Gilgit-Baltistan were orchestrated with fraudulent tactics by the PPP government.

In this regard before the elections I (Nawaz Sharif) have conveyed this to the President Asif Ali Zaradari, particularly about the appointment of a new Chief Election Commissioner just 15 days earlier to the elections.  The newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner had done record fraud in Punjab during the 2002 elections. Beside this there have been made transfers of high grade civil servant in order to manipulate the elections.

Nawaz Sharif further stated that the PPP government itself accepts that there were a lot of mistakes in the electorate list. We highly condemned the undemocratic activities of PPP government and we are working towards the restoration of constitution and rights of the people of Pakistan, and soon the nation will hear good news.

The representatives of the PML (N) from Gilgit-Baltistan thanked the Nawaz Sharif and Shebaz Sharif for doubling the reserved seats in the professional colleges of Punjab for the students of Gilgit-Baltistan, but complained regarding the hurdles created by the central government of PPP regarding students’ admission.  Nawaz Sharif asked Ishaq Dar in to take immediate actions to resolve this problem.
