[News] Pak-China friendship caravan to attend Kashghar Trade Fair

ISLAMABAD, Jan 20 (APP): Chairman Pakistan-China Institute Mushahid Hussain will be leading a friendship  caravan of 60 people from Gilgit to Kashghar in  China  by road to attend the Kashghar Trade Fair for futher cementing the Sino-Pak ties. Talking to APP, he said the Pakistan-China Institute is the first non-governmental, non-party and non-political organization with equal number of experts, scholars and intellectuals from China and Pakistan.

“It is the first Pakistan-based think tank to promote, strengthen and expand Pakistan-China relations in different fields”, he said.

The decision regarding friendship  caravan from Gilgit to Kashgar was taken at consultation meeting of the institute on January 4.

The Pakistani delegation consisting of businessmen, cultural experts, industrialists, scholars, students and media men will travel through Silk route to participant in the Kashghar Trade Fair commencing on June 25. 

“ Traveling through the Silk Route we want to  highlight importance of this important and  traditional route”.

Mushahid Hussain said that international seminar on Pakistan-China cooperation will be held soon to explore ways and means to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of defence and diplomacy, economy, energy , investment, trade, education, culture, youth and women, tourism, academia and media.

He said that the Pakistan China Institute will hold regular seminars and briefings on important developments pertaining to Pakistan-China relations.

“This think tank will work in key sectors of Pakistani state and society including political parties, civil society, educational institutions, opinion leaders, media and business community,” he remarked.

Replying to a question, Chairman Pakistan-China Institute said  Pakistan is enjoying historic and deep rooted relations with China . “China  a time tested friend which support Pakistan on every international forum and never interfer  in our internal matters. It provide assistance without any conditions attached”.

On China’s  important role at international level, he said Pakistan  appreciate  China’s positive role in South Asia, its policy of  non-interference in internal affairs in other countries.  Giving  his recommendations  for taking initiatives to cementing the Sino-Pak ties, the chairman said the government should establish an inter-ministerial and inter-provincial Special Task Force to implement in a speedy, coordinated manner the ongoing projects, initiatives and MOUs signed between the two governments .
