Considering the current political atmosphere in Gilgit-Baltistan and that is what going on in Islamabad, where it is almost confirmed that PPP would be establishing government in the region, the questions remains who would be able to grab the big slouts in the new legislative assembly? As far as Chief Minister is concern Syed Mehdi Shah the president of PPP Gilgit-Baltistan would be guranteed nominee and winer for the seat. The other most important seat of Governership is being with in gray area, there are opinions both with in Islamabad and PPP Gilgit-Baltistan for the post be with some one who is local as well as supporter of PPP and neutral in his position for all three major sects of Gilgit-Baltistan. Considering the existing political lot, many fingers points Pir Karam Ali Shah as a governor for Giglit-Baltistan a long time supporter of PPP and having the status of a neutral figure and acceptable to all major sects in the region as well as for political parties.
If this situation happens there would be far lesser chances for Wazir Baig to be the speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Lagislative assembly rather the speaker would be most problably from Chilas representing the sunnies of the area as Chief Minister would be a Shia and Governor an Ismaili. If the above political setup would not be materialize in terms of Governeship and some one from Pakistan would be selected or some one else as governor than Wazir Baig from Hunza have more chances to be Speaker of the GBLA.
